SUMMARY:Cypripedium Culture. Lady Slipper Orchids
DESCRIPTION:The Master Gardeners Association of Alberta presents: \n“Cypripedium Culture. Lady Slipper Orchids” \nSpeaker: Shawn Hills\, Garden Slipper Orchids \nCypripedium have had a long-standing reputation for being fussy if not impossible to cultivate. The first Cypripedium was described in the mid 1500’s so we are talking a long time. It has only been in the last thirty years that the secrets of germination and techniques for cultivation have evolved to the point that these plants could be offered commercially. With close to 200 hybrids and increasing now is the best time to get growing. \nFor More Information Contact: www.mgaab.org \nhttps://www.eventbrite.ca/e/mgaa-cypripedium-culture-lady-slipper-orchids-tickets-141651303863

SUMMARY:Creating Beauty Through Texture
DESCRIPTION:Presented by the Master Gardeners Association of Alberta \n“Creating Beauty Through Texture”\nSpeaker: Elaine Rude \nDate & Time: 17 May 2021 @ 6:30pm \nCreating texture in a garden can be a challenge for gardeners including the most experienced ones. Texture is rather an amorphous quality generating questions of what is it really; why are some plants considered textural and not others\, and how do you put plants together to create interest? While we often think of texture as something tactile\, there are a number of surprising ways to manipulate plant qualities to create depth and interest through texture. So let’s take a journey to discover what these qualities are and how to put them to best use.\n\nTo register: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/gardening-with-texture-working-title-tickets-145123090069\n\n\nwww.mgaab.org
